After completing your education, you will obtain the <strong>Masters degree<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>At the second cycle program, you can pursue your academic and professional interests, participate in scientific research, and work independently in state-of-the-art laboratories using world-class equipment. A wide range of elective modules and the support of a scientific advisor will allow you to shape your educational path to best prepare you for entering the professional and academic market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The general concept of 2nd cycle geological program conducted at the University of Wroc\u0142aw is to obtain learning outcomes in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-columns stk-block-columns stk-block stk-ce6a4be\" data-block-id=\"ce6a4be\"><div class=\"stk-row stk-inner-blocks stk-block-content stk-content-align stk-ce6a4be-column\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-stackable-column stk-block-column stk-column stk-block stk-ba775bb\" data-v=\"4\" data-block-id=\"ba775bb\"><style>@media screen and (min-width:768px){.stk-ba775bb{flex:1 1 calc(60% - var(--stk-column-gap,0px) * 1 \/ 2 ) !important}}<\/style><div class=\"stk-column-wrapper stk-block-column__content stk-container stk-ba775bb-container stk--no-background stk--no-padding\"><div class=\"stk-block-content stk-inner-blocks stk-ba775bb-inner-blocks\">\n<p>From the start, you choose one of the 4 popular and in-demand specializations: exploratory geology, hydrogeology, applied petrology and mineralogy, geochemistry, and waste management. The specialization is achieved by selecting 3 out of 13 attractive and modern specialization modules: environmental geochemistry; environmental management; paleoenvironment reconstruction; reservoir rock geology; structural geology and geological mapping; resource exploration and documentation; energy resources (coal, oil, gas); the continental crust: from micro to global scale; magmatism: processes, rocks, minerals; applied mineralogy and geochemistry; underground water flow and pollutant migration; recognition of aquifer structures; underground water resources and their exploitation; engineering geology. Graduates should be specialists who, based on acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills, are prepared for independent work in basic and applied geology, as well as environmental protection. They should also be able to lead team tasks requiring creative initiative. The presented education concept is closely linked with socio-economic needs and labor market expectations, which are defined and verified mainly through the voices of internal and external stakeholders.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-ugb-column ugb-column ugb-0699a89 ugb-column--design-plain ugb-main-block\"><div class=\"ugb-inner-block\"><div class=\"ugb-block-content\"><div class=\"ugb-column__item ugb-0699a89-column-wrapper\"><div class=\"ugb-column__content-wrapper\">\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading bs-naglowek-z-kolorem\"><strong>Practical classes and fieldwork<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Studies in this field of study incorporate a high proportion of practical classes (laboratory classes, project classes, fieldwork) into the program. A major advantage is the fieldwork in attractive regions of the country and abroad, including places like the Czech Republic and Austria. Field activities will give you a different approach to learning and socialising. Students also participate in scientific camps and expeditions to various parts of the world (Spitzbergen, Greenland, Indonesia, Chile, Scandinavia, Cyprus, Albania, and others). The unique &#8220;field&#8221; atmosphere of geological studies is something truly worth experiencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During your studies, you will also have the opportunity to take part in internships offered by leading companies in the geological, mining, and exploration sectors, as well as by the government. While these internships aren&#8217;t mandatory, many of our students opt to take them.
