Institute at the European Geoscience Union 2023

This week, scientists from our Institute participated in the European Geosciences Union – EGU conference in Vienna ?? We prepared numerous presentations for the occasion. ➡️ Our Institute’s Director, Prof. Anna Pietranik, led a session on the Variscan Orogeny, and Prof. Jacek Puziewicz from the Experimental Petrology Department led a session on mantle processes.

➡️ During the geodynamics session, Ms. Małgorzata Nowak from the Department of Physical Geology presented her results on rocks subjected to ultra-high pressures in the Śnieżnik Massif. Dr. Piotr Wojtulek from the Mineral Resources Management Department Mineral Resources Management Department presented a lecture on Devonian ophiolites in the European Variscides context.
➡️ Our exceptional doctoral students, Hubert Mazurek, Błażej Cieślik, Jakub Mikrut, and Małgorzata Ziobro, presented their posters during various sessions along with their supervisors, Prof. Jakub Kierczak and Dr. hab. Magdalena Matusiak-Małek. A poster on detrital zircons was also presented during the Caledonian session by Dr. Grzegorz Ziemniak from the Department of Physical Geology ?
EGU is a true celebration of Earth sciences, and we are thrilled to share our impressions from this Conference ❤️
